The
Nakano

A shoe model that combines formal innovation and stylistic heritage, characterized by a deliberate break with traditional aesthetic codes. Designed to be visually striking, distinguished by its sole with an exaggerated inscription of its size. This type of sneaker takes on a disruptive stance, while anchoring itself permanently in the collective imagination thanks to it's visual and symbolic impact.

Nakano in Line with Free Lance's Unique Positioning

Unconventional, bold yet masterful luxury. This high-top sneaker, with it's deliberately atypical silhouette, combines disruptive design and premium materials (Italian leathers, handcrafted finishes, detailed sole).

For Who ?

Designed for everyone looking for statement pieces, it stands out for it's ability to create desire while remaining faithful to a requirement for quality — ideal for customers looking for uniqueness.

How Different ?

Conceived as a statement piece, the Nakano doesn't follow trends — it anticipates them.
The Nakano stands as a symbol of creative independence and refined disruption, personal expression, and exceptional craftsmanship.

DESIGN

The Nakano was born from a strong vision : to reinterpret the sneaker in a radically creative way, while remaining faithful to Free Lance's artisanal elegance. The design draws inspiration from Japanese streetwear codes — notably the brutalist architecture of Nakano, Tokyo's iconic district — to create a sculptural high-top silhouette that's both urban and avant-garde.
The creative process, carried out within the Free Lance studio, is based on a constant dialogue between form and material. Each prototype is hand-drawn, tested in volume, then refined until a singular balance between stylistic exaggeration and controlled comfort is achieved. The panels are worked like architectural modules; the contrasting textures (smooth leather, suede, iridescent) give depth to the line, while the oversized sole injects a contemporary tension.
Designed as a statement piece, the Nakano doesn't follow trends — it precedes them.
It's a conceptual sneaker, made for retail outlets that value avant-garde, personal expression, and exceptional craftsmanship.
