01 . Market Trends
To support the renewal of Snyder, a focused sneaker capsule was developed, starting with a deep dive into the competitive landscape. We analyzed market trends, key players, and color palettes across the premium sneaker space to identify opportunities for brand positioning.
From this research, the creative direction was structured around three distinct mood boards:
- The Original : Rooted in Snyder’s core identity, this board focused on clean lines, timeless shapes, and classic materials — a modern take on heritage design.
- The Decoratives : This direction introduced bolder visual elements, including mixed textures, playful color blocking, and statement details, aimed at a more expressive customer base.
- The Made in France : A premium tier celebrating French craftsmanship, featuring elevated materials, minimal branding, and refined construction — reinforcing authenticity and artisanal value.
Together, these three pillars provided a versatile yet coherent roadmap for reimagining Snyder’s sneaker offering, balancing brand legacy with renewed creative energy.
02 . Creative Moodboards
Following competitive research and initial concept framing, the second phase of the Snyder sneaker renewal project focused on creative exploration through moodboards, aimed at defining design language and visual direction. Three thematic boards were developed to guide material, silhouette, and detailing choices :
- Constructions : Highlighted sole structures, panel placements, stitching techniques, and material layering — focusing on how the sneaker is built and how form can follow function.
- Minimalist : Explored clean, refined aesthetics with subtle branding, monochrome palettes, and pared-back shapes — embodying understated sophistication.
- Details : Focused on tactile elements and finishing touches — eyelets, laces, edge treatments, linings, and branding applications — that bring uniqueness and richness to each design.
These boards served as a creative foundation for the design phase, helping to align the team on the balance between innovation, brand DNA, and market relevance.
